Zohaib Hassan A scion of the Amritsar gharana of sarangi players. Zohaib Hassan is the finest sarangi player from the younger
generation in Pakistan. Born into a family of musicians hailing from the Amritsar gharana, Zohaib has established himself among the leading sarangi players in Pakistan. The members of his family include Ustad Hussain Bukhsh Amritsari, Ustad Nathu Khan, Ustad Peeru Khan and Ustad Abdul Hameed Khan.

His initial training came under his family elders and later he became a disciple of Ustad Ghulam Haider Khan of the Qasur gharana. Zohaib's strict regime of arduous riyaaz and concentration on musical perfection has meant that he has performed in all of the major musical conferences in Pakistan and has had the honor of accompanying the likes of Ustad Raza Ali Khan, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan Hyderabadwale, the late Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, Ustad Shafqat Salamt Ali Khan, Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan and tabla maestro Ustad Bashir Khan.Zohaib is presently striving
hard to create a presence on the International platform.

Zohaib has played at the Kennedy Center in December 2013 and was broght to the U.S. as a representative of Pakistan in 2015 as part of the Dost Music Project whose initiative is to builda relationship and bridge the gap between Western and Easterr Music. Zohaib is an accomplished accompanist as well as a soloist. The ancient instrument he playes, the sarangi, is a dieing instrument but Zohaib has solidified his ranking as amongst the top 10 Sarangi players in the world. Zohaib has also worked for and is a pert of Melodic Intersect, a world fusion group and has been featured on the group’s various albums.
